A.M., a youth, was charged with one count of Sexual Assault. It was a very serious allegation of
forced vaginal intercourse and the Crown was initially seeking a lengthy jail sentence. After we
had extensive discussions with the Crown on various issues, including the credibility of the
complainant and inconsistencies in their statement, the charge was withdrawn.
